Question :
Sorry, I'm a newb. What does CPPM stand for? What equipment is needed to use this digital port? If we must jump ch2 and ch3 to turn on the CPPM feed, how do we still control the ch2=aileron and ch3=elevator control surfaces? Is a hub necessary to split out a signal for these servos? Is a CPPM/SBUS decoder needed? How is all this connected? Please do not reply unless you have made this work yourself.

Discussion of this question:

Cppm means compressed ppm signal. It aggregates 8 channels together into one signal.
Usually used in flight controllers and Flybarless heli controllers.
It's used to reduce the amount of wires used between devices.
You either choose to run this receiver as 4 channels only, or choose cppm if you have a flight controller that can decode cppm.
S-bus is a similar idea but invented by futaba and not compatible with cppm.

There are separate cppm decoder for sale elsewhere, but it's just much cheaper to buy a full 8ch receiver if you want separate channels.
