What are the differences among DHL/FedEx/TNT/EMS express services?

Added: 2007-05-10   Updated: 2007-07-05   View: 29706

According to our experiences of years cooperation with them, the following comments may help you to determine which service suit your needs better:
a. Post office EMS service is the least trouble method, parcels via post office services are easier to go through the custom. It requires the total weight of each parcel can not exceeds 20kg, and also have size limit of 1.5 meter / 1.05 meter in length based on countries. EMS charges based on gross weight of the parcel. EMS is not as fast, reliable as other express companies like DHL/FedEx/TNT.
b. DHL is fast and reliable, and has a impressive custom clearance capability, at most of time, in most countries are free of trouble during custom clearance, FedEx maintains a similar record. Both DHL and FedEx charge based on dimension weight for bulky goods.
c. TNT has the widest coverage of destinations they can serve, as an unique offer to HiModel, TNT only charge us based on actual weight instead of dimensional weight, so you can save a lot for bulky items, like airplane and helicopters kits etc.
In custom clearance ability, to some countries where have a relatively strict policies, it may expect custom clearance problem.

For customers from countries where have a more strict policy on import goods like Ukraine, Russia, Brazil etc.(not limited to those countries), we highly recommend customers consult with your local shippers or custom authority on the import regulations before choose to ship via express service, and start with a trial/small order first. In case the parcel is subject to any import duty/taxes, it should be paid by buyers, and in case it is rejected or returned due to custom clearance problem, the freight for returning should also be paid by buyer.
