Function Description
RCD3002 is a kind of remote controlled driver for glow plug, customers can control the RCD3002’s working status through the switch channel on the transmitter. The device shares the same battery pack with the receiver.
Time limit and low voltage protection, in order to ensure safe flying, the device will stop working when the trigger time is more than 5 minutes or the voltage is lower than 4.5V. Short circuit and over-heat protection work effectively when the system is short circuited and over-heat after long time flying, as soon as it returns to normal, the device resumes working.
It can adjust output current automatically according to the working status of the glow plug, to ensure the glow plug’s working temperature the best, even if the glow plug is drowned into the fuel, it still can keep on a normal working temperature.
The device is high efficiency and interference resistance as it is drove through low frequency impulse width directly, but the resistance of the battery can also influence its working state, in some cases, the glow plug won’t become hot and red because of the high resistance of the battery.

Grade: I used this as on-board glow ignitor, as my engine is cowled and the glow plug is not easily accessible. I connect to channel 5 (gear) and flip the switch to on, glow voltage is on (sounder on), flip switch to off, glow voltage is off (sounder off).
I also tried connecting it to a 3 position AUX channel and found that at position 1, the glow plug gets half power, at position 2 it gets full power. There are also 3 other modes which I have not yet played with. July 14 2013 Was this review helpful to you? Yes [ 1 ]

Grade: It is a great power booster for my gas/glow conversion gas engine. My gas/glow DLE 20 engine is running with Glow and gasoline mixture without electric ignition and spark plug, instead using OS F glow plug. In the low RPM, engine tends to hesitate, So it needs a glowplug to be heated at low rpm. It can be programmed to work at a certain rpm range. It is better than any other autobooster.
