I have matt halls frames too with the same Sunnsky X2212 1400kv motors and like you I had to cut off the protruding drive shafts with my Dremel. I'm not sure why they were designed that way. Anyway, right now I'm still waiting for parts like a KK2 board from China to finish this project and can hardly wait. I love Matt's designs and his flying abilities. I have both the T-Copter and the new Tri-Copter 2.0. Damn, I want to get up in the air bad!

adapter is screwed on and use a 40 c battery or better or u will puff the battery real quick they awesome motor for sure used them on a 32 in tricopter my first build with 10x4.5 props what a beast happy flying

Well made with very good finishing. High performance motor, great for Tcopters like this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP2h53Nwn9Y

I have finished building one with this motor and they perform great! One thing to note though, you will have to saw off the protruding drive shaft to fit it on a wooden tricopter. If you are flying it on a frame with a motor center hole mount then it shouldn't matter.
