Correct both use 3mm threaded screws - forget the 2.7
I have ordered many packets of these and occasionally some are stiff so all i do is squeeze them between smooth pliers gently a little at a time until they loosen up.
Good customer service and shipping with them so far.

Ok 3mm metric thread screws fit both holes.
Plastic suits 3mm threaded screws.
Ball hole suits 3 mm threaded screws.
2.7 mm hole doesn't make any sense as my 3mm drill bit fits it perfectly.
Good strong ball links.
